Road Skills Training
When we say “hands-on” experience, we mean it. Each student will be placed behind the wheel of a big rig and given real-life tests. All instructor directed.
Yard Skills Training
In the practice yard, Class A CDL training students will be taught backing, coupling & uncoupling, parking, sliding tandems, and other vital skills.
Driving Simulator
Our simulator gives students experience what it’s like to be the driver of a big rig – gear shifting, reading sight lines, braking, and parking.

Our training program includes 40 hours of classroom instruction and 120 hours of behind-the-wheel training.

Shelly Truck Driving School Instructors have more than 150 years of combined safe-driving experience as professional CDL-A drivers including: regional, jockey, OTR, Humvee, 5-Ton, fuel, bulk, LTL, oversize, city, long-haul, UPS freight, flatbed, tri-axle, lowboy, public service, pulling doubles, and concrete.
Which tests are required to get a CDL in PA?
There are three tests required to obtain a CDL Learner’s Permit, they are General Knowledge, Air Brakes, and Combinations. The final CDL Test includes three practical test segments. They are Vehicle Inspection, Basic Control Skills, and a Road test. Shelly Truck Driving School helps students prepare for these exams and ensures that they possess the skills required for commercial truck driving.
